A thin layer of ice has formed around the edges of the water, beginning its creep further toward the center. Birds of prey circle the air above the glistening, unfrozen water looking to dive after a fish. To the northeast, stretches of elk grasslands extend; the herd can occasionally be seen at the eastern edge of the lake. Looking to the north, deep woods endlessly stretch, and the snowy peaks of mountains arise in the far.
